Disc Saw (One Piece)
Removal Procedure
Accidental machine starting can cause injury or death to personnel working on the machine. To avoid accidental machine starting, turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position and remove the key. If the machine is not equipped with a battery disconnect switch, disconnect the battery cables from the battery and tape the battery clamps. Place a do not operate tag at the battery disconnect switch location to inform personnel that the machine is being worked on. |
Personal injury can result from rotating and moving parts. Stay clear of all rotating and moving parts. Never attempt adjustments while the machine is moving or the engine is running unless otherwise specified. The machine must be parked on a level surface and the engine stopped. |
NOTICE |
---|
When you change the disc saw teeth or holders, always replace the used bolts with new bolts. Use extreme cleanliness and properly torque the bolts upon installation. Failure to ensure cleanliness and to properly torque the bolts may result in machine damage. |
Note: When you replace teeth, purchase the teeth only in pairs and install the teeth on opposite sides (180°) of the disc saw to each other. Replace all excessively worn teeth at the same time. Otherwise, an unbalanced load could occur.
- Remove the four bolts and the nuts from the transport guard. Remove the transport guard.

- Ensure that all mating surfaces are clean and free of burrs.
- Check for clearance. The tooth must be seated tightly against the mating surface that is on the disc saw.
- The following conditions should be met when you position the cutting edges of the tooth:
(A) Position the cutting edge tooth at the outermost point from the center of the disc saw.
(B) Position the cutting edge tooth at the widest point between the top and the bottom of the tooth.
This rake angle will allow the rest of the tooth and disc saw to pass within the cut.

- Install tooth (1) onto the disc saw with one bolt (2). Tighten bolt (2) to a torque of 400 ± 40 N·m (300 ± 30 lb ft).
