Oil Pan Drain Plug Has More Threads{1302}

3406, 3408 Truck Engines
Description of Change: A new drain plug with more threads is used in the oil pan group on 3406 and 3408 Truck Engines. With more threads engaged, this prevents thread stripping (damage) in the aluminum oil pans. Threads on the new plug are about 17.1 mm (0.67") long, and on the former plug the thread length is about 7.6 mm (0.30").
Adaptable As: The new 1W7573 Plug is a direct replacement for the former 8M3837 Plug.
