A change has been made to Service Magazine, SEPD1827, 10, October 2014, "New Monitor Software Is Now Available for VIMS ABL2M ECM On Certain Cat^® Off-Highway Trucks/Tractors". The new part number information has been added.

Description Of Change: New software is available for certain machines that are listed above. The new software has improvements and enhancements that are listed below:

Improvements and Enhancements

• Corrected fuel level sensor map to display the corresponding fuel percent on Message Center, when the physical fuel tank was full on the 785C.

• Enhanced low air brake pressure level 3 event (ME# 13024) processing to prevent false triggers, during engine cranking on the 785C.

• Addressed Neutral Lockout indicator to display correct status, based on neutral lockout status from transmission ECM on the 789C series Off-Highway Trucks.

Note: Update to the latest transmission file released in SIS Web.

• Enhanced low air brake pressure level 3 event (ME#13024) processing, to prevent false triggers during engine cranking on the 789C series Off-Highway Trucks.

• The new software addresses the Mongolian and Portuguese languages.

- The instrument cluster backlight on certain Off-Highway Trucks.

- The engine overspeed logic on the 793D series Off-Highway Trucks updated with the logic that event code #13228 will trigger when the engine speed is greater than 2025 rpm.

- Corrected trigger conditions for Low Brake/Air Pressure Event (ME#13024) on the 785D, 789D, and 793D series Off-Highway Trucks.

- The MP# for Total Fuel parameter has been changed to 807 instead of 187 on the 785D, 789D, and 793D series Off-Highway Trucks.

- Improvements to the Fuel Tank Level Monitoring on the 797 and 797B series Off-Highway Trucks.

Note: An interim solution existed that had instructed the technician to: Extract pin J1-63 from the ABL2M ECM. Extract pin J1-2 (ABL ground) and apply a Y splice tying J1-63 and J1-2 together. Reinstall the remaining end of the Y splice back into J1-2. If this procedure has been implemented, return the circuit back to the original configuration prior to loading the new software.
