PL522 和 523 是利用移动通信网络向以下对象发送信息的通信设备：Caterpillar, Caterpillar 代理商 和 Caterpillar 客户。 此装置包含全球定位系统 (GPS) 卫星接收器和移动通信网络通信收发机。
注: 本文件提到的时间长度取决于随时间而变化的通信网络性能。
PL522 和 523 与 Cat 数据链路上采用的通信协议兼容。 Cat 数据链路上 Caterpillar 电子技师 (Cat ET) 可用的所有记录的事件和诊断代码可以发送到网络接口、VisionLink 上。 PL522 和 523 与高速卡车 ATA 数据链路上采用的通信协议间不兼容。
PL522 和 523 能够使客户接收以下信息：SMH（工时计小时）, 位置, 诊断代码, 事件 和 其他 Cat 数据链路 (CDL) 信息。
系统允许机器和 Caterpillar 代理商或客户等远程用户间进行双向通信。 用户可以随时从机器请求更新的信息。 还可以修改 PL522 和 523 模块的系统参数。 信息从机器经过移动通信网络到达 VisionLink。
