992G Wheel Loader and 854G Wheel Dozer Braking System Caterpillar

Note: Refer to callout (2) of the illustrations below to determine the procedure for your machine. Callout (2) of Illustration 1 has a plateau. Callout (2) of Illustration 2 has a full ramp.

Parking Brake Limit Switch (1) Valve stem (2) Block assembly (3) Switch actuator (4) Locknut (5) Plate

1. Extend valve stem (1) fully. Install switch actuator (3) onto plate (5) until the wheel contacts the flat area on block assembly (2).

2. Rotate switch (3) clockwise until the wheel rolls freely on the incline of block assembly (2).

3. Rotate switch (3) clockwise by an additional 1 1/2 turn. Tighten locknut (4) to a torque of 10 N·m (7 lb ft).

1. Retract valve stem (1) fully "Park Brake Off".

2. Install switch actuator (3) onto plate (5) until the wheel just contacts the flat area on block assembly (2).

3. Rotate switch actuator (3) clockwise or counter-clockwise quarter turn until the wheel orients to roll freely on the incline of block assembly (2).

4. Tighten locknut (4) to a torque of 9.94 N·m (88 lb in).
