NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.



NOTICE

Do not under fill or overfill engine crankcase with oil. Either condition can cause engine damage.

  1. Open the engine access door on the right side of the machine. The engine oil dipstick (2) is located on the right side of the machine.

  1. While the engine is stopped, maintain the oil level at the "FULL" mark on the engine oil dipstick (2) .

  1. If necessary, remove the engine oil filler cap (1) and add oil.

  1. Clean the engine oil filler cap and install the engine oil filler cap.

  1. Close the engine access door.
