    1. Make sure that the valve handle for the vacuum pump (if equipped) is down. The valve for the vacuum pump is located on the top of the hydraulic oil tank. If the valve handle is up, the engine will not start.

    1. Push down the accelerator pedal by three quarters of the pedal travel. Turn the engine start switch clockwise to the START position in order to crank the engine.

    1. Release the key as soon as the engine starts. Release the accelerator pedal. Do not allow the engine to run faster than 900 rpm for the first twenty seconds.

    1. If the engine does not start, wait for twenty seconds before you attempt to start the engine again. Do not attempt to start the engine if the starter motor is still turning.

    NOTICE

Do not crank the engine for more than 30 seconds. Allow the starter to cool for two minutes before cranking again.

Turbocharger and/or engine damage can occur if the engine speed is not kept low until the oil light/gauge verifies the oil pressure is sufficient.
