Procedure for Checking the Wear
Personal injury or death can result from machine movement. Place blocks in front of and behind the wheels to make sure the machine does not move while the parking brakes are disengaged. |
- Park the machine on level ground and ensure that the parking brake is engaged.
- Stop the engine. Prepare the machine for servicing. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance manual for your machine.
- Place wheel blocks in front of the rear wheels and behind the rear wheels.
- Use a tool (A) in order to measure the brake discs for minimum thickness.

- Compress and hold the brake pack by applying force to the service brake pedal.
Note: Apply sufficient force to the pedal in order to ensure that the brake pack is fully compressed.
- Measure the thickness of a brake disc (2) by inserting tool (A) through the oil filler plug hole (3) and between the plates of the compressed brake pack. Refer to Illustration .
Refer to Table for the minimum allowable thickness (S) .
