768C, 769C, 769D, 772B, 773B, 773D, 776C, 777B, 777D, 784B, 785, 785B, 789, 789B, 793, 793B and 793C Off-Highway Truck/Tractors and 771C, 771D and 775D Quarry Trucks Automatic Retarder Control (ARC) System Caterpillar

Note: On current machines, a service tool is required to access any mode except for the normal mode. The service tool must be used to perform the functions of the service switches and a service tool is used to access the diagnostic information. Refer to the Testing and Adjusting, "Service Tools" for any questions that are retaining to the service tools. On early machines, the diagnostic tools were on the ARC.

The detected fault mode (mode 1) is the display mode. This mode provides the troubleshooting and the clearing of each of the detected faults. The detected fault mode and normal mode described faults in the same manner. The fault description is the CID, the FMI, and the fault present indicator.

While the ARC is in the detected fault mode, momentarily pressing the set switch will advance the readout (9) in order to show the next fault. After all of the faults are shown, the readout will display END. After the end, the readout will return to the first fault.
