Engine Oil Filter Base - Disassemble
Disassembly Procedure
Start By:
- Remove the engine oil filter base. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Oil Filter Base - Remove".
- Remove tube assembly (2). Remove covers (1). Remove the O-ring seal from each cover, if necessary.

- Remove springs (6). Remove plungers (5) .

Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force. Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment. Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force. |

- Remove spring (4). Remove valve (3) .

- Remove the following components from base assembly (12) : bolt (11), seat (10), spring (9), spacer (8) and retainer (7) .
