The automatic track tension accumulator that is on the machines that are listed above must have the following service inspection. The accumulator assembly for the automatic track tensioning system will need to have an inspection before each season. Inspect the accumulator assembly that is located on the auxiliary system after every 1000 hours, or before each season.
Service Inspection of the Track Tension Accumulator
In order to verify that the correct pressure is in the accumulators, follow the procedure to check the hydraulic pressure in the accumulator. Refer to Specifications, Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, "Check for the Hydraulic Pressure in the Accumulator". If the pressure is low, you should check the nitrogen pressure of the accumulator. Refer to Specifications, Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, "Checking and Charging the Nitrogen Pressure".
Service Inspection for the Accumulator for the Auxiliary System
Note: You must purge the hydraulic pressure side in order to test the nitrogen side of the accumulator. You must turn off the machine and you must cycle the hoppers several times in order to purge the hydraulic pressure side.

Insert item 5 through the loop. Refer to illustration 2.     |
Perform the following steps.
- Remove dust cap (3) over the screw. Make sure that there is no paint and grease in the area. Make sure that the purging side of the gauge is closed.
- Use a 1U-7565 Wrench to rotate screw (1) counterclockwise by 60°.
Note: Do not loosen screw (1) more than 60°. This will cause the pressure to be lost.
- Put the charging group in screw (1) on the end of the accumulator. Connect the 9U-6740 Accumulator Charging Group and connect the 151-8856 Seal to the 207-4843 Accumulator .
- Hold the tee when you thread the charging group on the accumulator. This will ensure that the tee does not turn.
Note: Make sure that the charging group is tight.
- Loosen screw (1). One or two turns counterclockwise.
Note: Do not turn the screw more than two turns.
- The gauge should read 8963 ± 172 kPa (1300 ± 25 psi).
Note: Service the accumulator with a 9U-6740 Accumulator Charging Group and a 151-8856 Seal if the accumulator is not at the proper pressure. Use the instructions in the charging group in order to service the accumulator to a pressure of 8963 ± 172 kPa (1300 ± 25 psi). Reference the chart for the temperature pressure in order to find the correct pressure that corresponds to the ambient temperature.
- Hand tighten the screw clockwise with the tee on the assembly. Turn the purge valve counterclockwise in order to relieve the pressure on the gauge. Remove the charging group from the accumulator. Turn the plug to a maximum torque of 25 ± 6 N·m (18 ± 4 lb ft).
