Removal Procedure
Start By:
- Release the system pressure.
- Raise the hood.
At operating temperature, the hydraulic tank is hot and under pressure. Hot oil and components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or components to contact skin. Remove the filler cap only when the engine is stopped, and the filler cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand. Remove the filler cap slowly in order to relieve pressure. |

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |
- Park the machine on a hard level surface. Engage the parking brake and chock the wheels. Turn the disconnect switch to the OFF position. Apply the foot brake several times until all the pressure in the brake system is relieved.
- Remove four allen head screws (1) in order to remove pump control valve (2) from piston pump (3) .

- Remove three O-ring seals (4) from pump control valve (2) .

Installation Procedure
- Clean all parts and inspect all parts . If any parts are worn or damaged, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement.
- Install three O-ring seals (4) into pump control valve (2) .

- Position pump control valve (2) onto piston pump (3) and install four allen head screws (1) . Tighten the allen head screws to a torque of 7 N·m (5 lb ft).
