Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. - Disconnect harness assembly (1) from bypass valve (4).
- Remove bolts (3) and the bypass valve (4) from the torque converter.
- Remove O-ring seal (2) (not shown) from bypass valve (4).

Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the installation procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.
Note: O-ring seals, gaskets, and seals should always be replaced. A used O-ring seal may not have the same sealing properties as a new O-ring seal. Use Tooling (A) during the assembly procedure.
- Install O-ring seal (2) (not shown) on bypass valve (4).
- Install bypass valve (4) and bolts (3).
- Tighten bolts (3) to a torque of
28 ± 7 N·m (21 ± 5 lb ft) . - Connect the harness assembly (1) to the bypass valve.
