The main components of the holding system are the grapple arms, the grapple arm cylinders, the accumulator arms, and the accumulator arm cylinders.
The grapple arms and the accumulator arms can be independently controlled. The grapple arms and the accumulator arms are used to hold a tree after the tree is cut. The design of the accumulator arms allows additional trees to be collected while the previous tree is still held. Each accumulator arm is an assembly that is composed of three main pieces: two arm assemblies and one rubber band.

The grapple arms and the accumulator arms are controlled by a valve on the machine. The maximum oil pressure of 34500 ± 1000 kPa (5000 ± 150 psi) is used to open the arms for the TK1051 Track Feller Buncher. The maximum oil pressure of 34500 ± 1000 kPa (5000 ± 150 psi) is used to close the arms for the TK1051 Track Feller Buncher. The maximum oil pressure of 22000 kPa (3200 psi) is used to operate the arms on the TK711, TK721, TK722, TK732, 511, 521, 522, 532, 541, 551 and 552Track Feller Bunchers.
