Removal Procedure

Start By:

1. Remove the hydraulic tank guard. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hydraulic Tank Guard - Remove" for the machine that is being serviced.

2. Remove the swingout ladder. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Swingout Ladder - Remove" for the machine that is being serviced.

Note: Steps 1 through 3 are used for the removal of the front striker bar.

1. Use a suitable hoist and lifting chains in order to support front striker bar (1), as shown.

2. Remove eight bolts (2) and the washers.

3. Use the hoist in order to remove front striker bar (1). The weight of front striker bar (1) is 230 kg (500 lb).

   Note: Repeat Steps 1 through 3 for the opposite side.

   Note: Steps 4 through 8 are used for the removal of the middle striker bar.

4. Install Tooling (A) to middle striker bar (3), as shown.

5. Attach a suitable hoist and lifting chains to Tooling (A), as shown.

6. Remove three bolts (4) and the washers.

7. Remove four bolts (5) and the washers.

8. Use the hoist in order to remove middle striker bar (3). The weight of middle striker bar (3) is 350 kg (780 lb).

   Note: Repeat Steps 4 through 8 for the opposite side.

   Note: Steps 9 through 18 are used for the removal of the rear striker bar.

9. Attach Tooling (B) to bracket assembly (6), as shown.

10. Attach a suitable hoist and lifting chains to Tooling (B), as shown.

11. Remove four bolts (7) and the washers.

12. Use the hoist in order to remove bracket assembly (6). The weight of bracket assembly (6) is 55 kg (120 lb).

13. Remove 13 bolts (8) and the washers.

14. Use two persons in order to remove the plate. The weight of the plate is 27 kg (60 lb).

15. Install Tooling (C) to rear striker bar (9), as shown.

16. Attach a suitable hoist and lifting chains to Tooling (C), as shown.

17. Remove eight bolts (10) and the washers.

18. Use the hoist in order to remove rear striker bar (9). The weight of rear striker bar (9) is 208.6514 kg (460 lb).

    Note: Repeat Steps 9 through 18 for the opposite side.
