Turn the ignition switch into the ON position. The alert indicator (1) will come on during the heating process prior to starting the engine. The machine can be started after the alert indicator turns off.
Release the ignition switch when the engine starts.
Note: There is no need to preheat the engine when the temperature is above 10 °C (50 °F). The engine may be started even when the indicator for the preheat system is on. When the temperature of the engine coolant is above 14 °C (57.2 °F) the air inlet heater is deactivated.
Note: The preheat time varies between 10 seconds and 30 seconds.
Postheat Cycle for the Air Inlet Heater
Press the switch (2) again after the machine has started. This will extend the postheat cycle. This will aid in smoothing a rough idling engine.
