1. Use tool (F) and install snap ring (38) onto shaft (39).

2. With the aid of a second person, carefully install torque converter (34). The weight of the torque converter is 16 kg (35 lb).

3. Use tool (F) to install snap ring (37).

4. Install O-ring seal (36) onto plug (35). Install plug (35) into torque converter (34).

5. Use tool (E) to install snap ring (33) into torque converter (34).

6. Install tool (B) and tool (C).

7. Attach a double chain lifting sling to tool (C). Attach tool (D) between the hook of the crane and tool (B). Slowly take up the tension. The weight of the transmission and the torque converter is 200 kg (441 lb).

8. Install tool (A) onto pulley (23).

9. Use tool (A) to rotate the engine. Align one of the holes in the flywheel with the access hole in the flywheel housing . Install a guide stud into one hole in the drive plate. Rotate the drive plate and align the guide stud with the hole in the flywheel and the hole for access in the flywheel housing.

10. Move the transmission into position. Install seven bolts (31) and washers (32) into the transmission housing (29). Position wires (30) and install four brackets (28), four bolts (26), and four washers (27).

11. Remove the guide stud.

12. Install bolt (24) and washer (25). Use tool (A) to rotate the engine and align the next hole. Repeat the procedure until all eight bolts (24) and washers (25 ) are installed. Tighten all eight bolts to 40 ± 5 N·m (29 ± 3 lb ft).

13. Install access cover (22).

14. Position plate (11). Install three bolts (20) and three washers (21). Connect wire (19) to air inlet heater (18).

15. Install bolt (12) and washer (13). Position two clamps (17) which retain the two battery cables. Install bolt (14), two washers (15), and nut (16).

16. Install two bolts (9) and two washers (10) into plate (11). Install hose (8) and tighten clamp (7).

17. Connect hose (3) and tighten retaining nut (4). Connect hose (1) and tighten retaining nut (2). Install two half clamps (6) and bolt (5).

End By:

1. Fill the transmission with oil. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Transmission Oil - Change".

2. Install the piston pump (Implement and Steering). Refer to Machine Systems, Disassembly and Assembly, RENR3437, "Piston Pump (Inplement and Steering) - Install".

3. Install the engine, the torque converter, and the transmission. Refer to the Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine, Torque Converter and Transmission - Install".
