The pump drive gearbox has a 1.1:1 ratio of pump RPM to engine RPM. The reduction is necessary to maintain proper pump RPM. All of the systems utilize a common hydraulic tank. The propel system will be covered in this manual. 244-6453 Planetary Gear Kit
Each propel system is a closed circuit system. The hydraulic systems for each track are identical and separate. The propel system is composed of the following main components: left propel pump (13), right propel pump (4), hydraulic tank (10), left propel motor (1) and right propel motor (3).

Hydraulic Tank Compartment (10) Hydraulic tank |
Hydraulic tank (10) is located in the center of the machine under the floor panels near the operator station. All hydraulic systems on the machine utilize the hydraulic tank. Access to the hydraulic tank is gained by lifting the center floor panels.

Left propel pump (13) is mounted behind right propel pump (4). Both the left propel pump and the right propel pump contain a charge pump. Hydraulic oil flows from the hydraulic tank to the propel charge pumps before going to charge filters (2) and (14). Access to all pumps and the propel filters is through an access door on the right side of the machine.

Right Side of the Machine (15) Right final drive planetary |
Right propel motor (3) is located behind the right final drive planetary (15). The right propel motor is mounted in an assembly that contains the following components: fixed displacement piston motor, final drive planetary and brake. The propel motor and the final drive planetary are bolted to a mount that is part of the machine frame.
Left propel motor (1) is mounted in an assembly that is identical to the right propel motor.

Hydraulic Tank Compartment (5) Case drain filter |
Case drain filter (5) is used only for the left propel pump. The case drain oil from the left propel motor and the left propel pump flows through the case drain filter. The case drain filter is located in the hydraulic tank compartment toward the engine.
