This is the procedure for checking the orientation of the cam ring. Improper orientation of the cam ring may cause the all wheel drive piston motors to clack while operating in fourth speed forward through seventh speed forward or third speed reverse through sixth speed reverse.
A cam ring is located in each all wheel drive piston motor. The all wheel drive piston motors are located on each of the front wheels. There is a stamped letter "P" on the cam ring. The stamped letter "P" on the cam ring must be aligned with the bleed hole that is on the housing. This will ensure that the all wheel drive piston motors will turn in the correct direction.System Operation

Test Step 1. Perform the following test: Machine Preparation for Troubleshooting
Results:
- OK - Proceed to test step 2.
Test Step 2. Perform the following test: Hydraulic Pressure - Release
Results:
- OK - Proceed to test step 3.
Test Step 3. Cam Ring - Check
- Remove the housing from the all wheel drive piston motor.
