Operation Information

Usage:

574B CZZ

------ WARNING! ------

Adjustable bunks may fall causing personal injury. Use caution when adjusting the adjustable bunks. Do not adjust the bunks beyond the farthest position.

----------------------

NOTICE

Do not operate any hydraulic controls if the engine speed is less than 1200 RPM. The hydraulic system will stall the engine and damage to the engine may result.

Note: To prevent injury, make sure that no one is working on the machine or near the machine. Always maintain control of the machine.

Reduce the machine speed when you maneuver in tight quarters or when you are going over a hill. For operator comfort, deceleration is recommended before any directional shifts are made.

Do not allow the machine to overspeed when you travel downhill. Release the accelerator pedal in order to reduce the machine speed. The accelerator pedal also controls the brakes. You may also use the service brake pedal in order to slow the machine. Completely releasing the accelerator pedal will apply the parking brake.

NOTICE

Your machine is equipped with two shutdown switches. Do not use a shutdown switch during normal operation. Using a shutdown switch will result in full braking power and the machine will stop suddenly.

Watch the warning lights and the indicators while you are operating the machine. If an alarm is triggered, stop the machine immediately and determine the cause of the problem.

Watch for overhead obstructions and power lines. While you are driving the machine, keep the boom as low as possible. Logs should not be stacked higher than the top of the gate.

Machine Operating Temperature Range

The machine must function satisfactorily in the anticipated ambient temperature limits that are encountered during operation. The minimum limits for items that will affect the safe operation of the machine to be considered are 0-100% relative humidity for -40 °C (-40 °F) to 50 °C (122 °F) temperatures unless otherwise specified in marketing functional specification.

Operating the Machine

  1. Close the cab door.

  1. Adjust the operator seat and armrests. Fasten the seat belt.

  1. Place the machine in working mode by pressing mode switch (1) on the right hand control unit.

Note: When you select working mode, the joysticks and the loader will become active.

  1. Set the minimum engine speed and the maximum machine speed. The engine rpm will be displayed on the IQAN screen.

Reference: Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Operator Controls, Engine Speed Control" and Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Operator Controls, Machine Speed Control" for more information.

  1. Turn on the terrain steering by pressing steering activation switch (4). The steering switch or the terrain steering switch is normally used when the machine is in the working mode. However, the steering wheel is always active.

Reference: Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Operator Controls, Steering Control" for more information.

  1. Select transmission direction switch (2) for travel direction. Select gear selector switch (3) in order to choose gear speed. The selected gear will be displayed on the IQAN screen.

Reference: Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Operation Controls, Direction and Speed Control" for more information.

    NOTICE

Do not attempt to move the machine until the ladder is in the full raised position. Moving the machine prior to raising the ladder could result in machine damage.

  1. Release the parking brake by pressing parking brake switch (5). The ladder will raise.

Note: Do not attempt to move the machine until the ladder is in the full raised position. Machine movement prior to raising the ladder could result in machine damage.

  1. Gently press the accelerator pedal. The brakes and the oscillation lock will be released automatically.

Reference: For information regarding transporting or roading, refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Transportation Information".

  1. Press the accelerator further. The machine will now travel.

  1. In order to stop the machine, release the accelerator.

Note: Releasing the accelerator pedal automatically applies the brakes and the oscillation lock. You must press on the accelerator pedal in order to release the brakes.
