(1) Torque for 12 studs "X" ... 350 ± 40 N·m (258 ± 30 lb ft)
(2) The purge screws should be located in the top set of ports when the wheel is assembled on the right side or the left side of the machine.
(3) Nuts
- Torque for 18 nuts ... 900 ± 100 N·m (660 ± 75 lb ft)
(4) Torque for six studs ... 350 ± 40 N·m (258 ± 30 lb ft)
(5) Use 1P-0808 Multipurpose Grease to lubricate the seal.
(6) Rim mounting surfaces must be clean and free of oil and grease before the wheel assembly is installed.
(7) Nuts
Note: The use of 4C-5592 Anti-Seize Compound on the faces of the washers and the threads for 24 nuts (7) alters the required torque for nut (7) . Use the appropriate torque value from the chart below.
Torque     | |
Procedure with Anti-Seize Compound     | Procedure without Anti-Seize Compound     |
1200 ± 50 N·m (885 ± 37 lb ft)     |
2100 ± 200 N·m (1550 ± 150 lb ft)     |
(8) 4D-5642 Shim Pack
- Thickness ... 2.90 ± 0.08 mm (0.114 ± 0.003 inch)
Note: See the Power Train Testing and Adjusting, "Rear Wheel Bearing - Adjust" in order to determine the amount of shims to use.
(9) Bolts
- Torque for eight bolts ... 250 ± 15 N·m (184 ± 11 lb ft)
Note: Apply 9S-3263 Thread Lock Compound on the threads of bolts (9) before installation.
Note: Perform the procedure in the Power Train Testing and Adjusting, "Rear Wheel Bearing - Adjust" before these bolts are installed.
