Tooling (B) is installed on the Inner Sun Gear.

    NOTICE

This f inal drive contains two sun gears. The inner sun gear must be held in place with Tooling (B). This will prevent the inner sun gear from falling out of the final drive when the planetary carriers are removed. Steps 5 and 6 are done in order to hold the inner sun gear in place.

  1. Install Tooling (B) in order to hold inner sun gear (6) in place.

    NOTICE

Three bolts [Tooling (C) ] must be threaded in 25 mm (1 inch) in order to hold the planetary carrier.

  1. Remove three equally spaced bolts that hold planetary carrier (4) to hub (5). Install Tooling (C) in the place of the three bolts, as shown.

  1. Remove the remaining 26 bolts (3) that hold the planetary carrier to the hub.
