Power Train Oil Pump - Disassemble

Start By:

  1. Remove the power train oil pump.

  1. Remove switch (2). Remove the O-ring seal from the switch.

  1. Remove four bolts (3), flange (1), and cage (4) from the pump as a unit.

  1. Remove two bolts (5) .

  1. Remove O-ring (6) from cage (4) .

  1. Remove spiral snap ring (7) from flange (1) .

  1. Use Tooling (A) and a press in order to remove flange (1) from cage (4) .

  1. If necessary, remove plug (8) from flange (1) .

  1. Use Tooling (B), and remove the bearing and the lip seal from cage (4) .

    NOTICE

    Put identification marks on the pump gears. If the pump gears are reused, be sure to install the pump gears in the original position.


  1. Turn over the oil pump and support the oil pump with wood blocks, as shown.

  1. Remove two O-ring seals (9), O-ring seal (11), and O-ring seal (12) from cover (10) .

  1. Remove four bolts (13) and the washers. Remove cover (10) .

  1. Turn over cover (10), and remove O-ring seals (14) and (15) .

  1. Remove body assembly (19). Remove two O-ring seals (16) from the body assembly.

  1. Remove drive gear (17) and driven gear (18). Remove the key from the shaft for drive gear (17) .

  1. Turn over body assembly (19) and remove O-ring seal (20) from the body assembly.

  1. If necessary, remove two bearings (21) and two dowels (22) .

  1. Remove drive gear (23) and driven gear (24). Remove the key from the shaft for drive gear (23) .

  1. Remove O-ring seal (25) from body assembly (26) .

  1. Turn over body assembly (26), and remove O-ring seal (27) .

  1. If necessary, remove two bearings (28) .

  1. Remove drive gear (29) and driven gear (30) .

  1. Remove body assembly (31) .

  1. If necessary, remove two dowel pins (32) from each side of body assembly (31) .

  1. Remove O-ring seal (34) from cover assembly (35) .

  1. If necessary, remove two bearings (33) .
