Removal Procedure

Start By:

1. Remove the cab front cover.

Note: Before the removal of horn valve (6), support horn valve (6) to avoid damage.

In order to prevent possible personal injury, release the air pressure from the air tank before disconnecting any components of the air system.

1. Disconnect air hose (8) from the horn valve.

2. Disconnect air hose (7) from the horn valve.

3. Remove cotter pin (3) to remove horn button (1) from the stem.

4. Remove two screws (2), two nuts (5), and two washers (4) to remove horn valve (6).

5. Remove horn valve (6).
   Show/hide table

   Personal injury or death can occur from heavy components falling during removal or installation. Properly support the component with a suitable lifting device during removal or installation.

6. Remove two connectors (9) and (10) from horn valve (6).

Installation Procedure

Note: Inspect the O-ring seals. Replace any O-ring seals that are worn or damaged.

Note: Before installation, apply Tooling (A) to the O-ring seals.

1. Install two connectors (9) and (10) on horn valve (6).

   Note: During the installation of connectors (9) and (10), apply Tooling (B) to the threaded connection.

2. Install horn valve (6).

3. Install two washers (4), two nuts (5), and two screws (2) to install horn valve (6).

4. Install cotter pin (3) to install horn button (1) on the stem.

5. Connect air hose (7) on the horn valve.

6. Connect air hose (8) to the horn valve.

Note: to recharge the air tank, refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Starting With An External Air Supply"
