Torque Converter Outlet Relief Valve - Disassemble

Start By:

  1. Remove the torque converter outlet relief valve.

------ WARNING! ------

Personal injury can result from parts and/or covers under spring pressure.

Spring force will be released when covers are removed.

Be prepared to hold spring loaded covers as the bolts are loosened.

  1. Use tooling (A) (longer bolts) and release the spring pressure behind cover (1). Remove cover (1) .

  1. Remove valve spool (5), washers (4), spring (3), and O-Ring seal (2) from relief valve (7) .

  1. Remove cover (6) and the O-Ring seal. Use Tooling (B) and remove the stop from the other side of the relief valve.

  1. Remove the sending unit and the switch from relief valve (7) .

  1. Inspect all of the O-Ring seals for damage. Replace damaged seals with new seals. Clean all parts thoroughly.
