Start By:

  1. Remove the front bottom guard. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, SENR1811, "Bottom Guard - Remove and Install".
  2. Remove the hood and the dust ejector. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hood and Dust Ejector - Remove and Install".
  3. Remove the muffler. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Muffler - Remove and Install".
  4. Remove the engine side guards. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Side Guards - Remove and Install".

------ WARNING! ------

At operating temperature, the engine coolant is hot and under pressure.

Steam can cause personal injury.

Check the coolant level only after the engine has been stopped and the fill cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.

Remove the fill cap slowly to relieve pressure.

Cooling system conditioner contains alkali. Avoid contact with the skin and eyes to prevent personal injury.

  1. Drain the coolant from the cooling system into a suitable container for storage or disposal. The capacity of the cooling system is approximately348 L (92 US gal). Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7109, "Cooling System Coolant (DEAC) - Change" for the proper draining procedure.

  1. Remove bolts and washers (1) from left side radiator door (2). Open the radiator door.

  1. Disconnect electrical connector (3) .

  1. Loosen clamp (4) and remove hose (5). Loosen clamp (6) and remove hose (7) .

  1. Remove bolt (8), clip (9), and hose bracket (10) from the bottom fan guard. Position hose assembly (7) out of the way.

  1. Remove bolts and washers (11). Remove the bolt and washer (13) from the upper right side fan guard (12) .

  1. Remove bolts, washers, and nuts (14). Remove the bolt, the washer and nut (15) .

  1. Remove upper right side fan guard (12) .

  1. Remove the bolt and washer (16). Remove hose bracket (17) from the upper left side fan guard (18) .

  1. Remove bolts and washers (19). Remove the bolt, the washer and nut (13). Remove upper left side fan guard (18) .

  1. Remove the bolts and washers (20). Remove bolts and washers (22). Remove the bottom fan guard (21) .

  1. Loosen clamps (23) and slide hose (24) toward the engine.

  1. Loosen clamps (25) and slide hose (26) toward the engine.

  1. Remove hose assembly (27) from fitting (28) .

  1. Remove the bolts and washers (29). Remove bracket (30) from the bottom shield assemblies (31) .

  1. Remove the bolts and washers (32). Remove clip (33) from the bottom shield assemblies (31) .

  1. Remove the bolts and washers (34) from baffles (33) .

  1. Remove shields (31) and the bottom baffle (35) .

  1. Remove the lower baffle assembly (36) .

  1. Attach Tool (A) and a suitable lifting device to the top of the radiator assembly.

  1. Close the left side radiator door (2), and install the bolts and washers (1) .

  1. Install Tool (B) .

    Note: Removal of a track shoe grouser may be necessary.

  1. Remove two hidden hinge pins (37) .

  1. Carefully tilt the radiator guard assembly (38) until contact is made with the main frame (39) .

Installation Procedure

  1. Attach Tool (A) and a suitable lifting device to the top of the radiator assembly.

  1. Carefully install the guard assembly (38) on the main frame (39) .

  1. Install Tool (B). A soft hammer may be used as a substitute for Tool (B) .

  1. Install two hidden hinge pins (37) .

  1. Install track shoe grousers which may have been removed.

  1. Remove bolts and washers (1), and open the left side radiator door (2) .

  1. Install the lower baffle assembly (36) .

  1. Install the bottom baffle (35) and shields (31) .

  1. Install the bolts and washers (34) in baffles (33) .

  1. Install clip (33) in the bottom shield assemblies (31). Install the bolts and washers (32) .

  1. Install bracket (30) on the bottom shield assemblies (31). Install the bolts and washers (29) .

  1. Install hose assembly (27) on fitting (28) .

  1. Slide hose (26) on the tube. Tighten clamps (25) .

  1. Slide hose (24) on the tube. Tighten clamps (23) .

  1. Install bottom fan guard (21). Install bolts and washes (22). Install bolts and washers (20) .

  1. Install upper left side fan guard (18). Install the bolt, the washer and nut (13). Install bolts and washers (19) .

  1. Install the upper left side fan guard (18). Install the bolt and washer (16) .

  1. Install upper right side fan guard (12) .

  1. Install the bolt, the washer and nut (15). Install bolts, washers, and nuts (14) .

  1. Install the bolt and washer (13) in the upper right side fan guard (12) .

  1. Install bolts and washers (11) .

  1. Install hose (11), hose bracket (10), and clip (9). Install bolt (8) .

  1. Install hose (7) and tighten clamp (6). Install hose (5) and tighten clamp (4) .

  1. Install the hood and the dust ejector. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hood and Dust Ejector - Remove and Install".
  2. Install the front bottom guard. Refer to Disassembly and AssemblySENR1811, "Bottom Guard - Remove and Install".
  3. Install the muffler. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Muffler - Remove and Install".
  4. Install the engine side guards. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Side Guards - Remove and Install".
