  1. Position the front suspension on a level surface so the axis of the cylinder is horizontal.

  2. Remove 24 bolts (4) and the 24 washers. Remove head (1) from housing assembly (2). The weight of head (1) is approximately 136 kg (299.8 lb). The housing assembly weighs approximately 435 kg (959.01 lb).

  3. Plate (3) and two plates (5) will not be removed unless the cylinder assembly must be replaced and new plates were not ordered.

    ------ WARNING! ------

In order to prevent possible personal injury, use a suitable fixture to support the weight of the suspension cylinder. Do not attempt to stand the suspension cylinder on end without the use of a suitable support. Failure to use a suitable support fixture could result in injury or death to personnel in this area.

  4. Use Tool (A), Tool (B), and a suitable hoist to position the front suspension so the axis of the cylinder is vertical. Use a suitable fixture to support the weight of the front suspension.

Note: New tools are available (C) (D) to allow horizontal removal of the gland.
