V-Belts - Remove and Install

Usage:

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the fan assembly.

  1. Use the following steps in order to remove the V-belts from the alternator and the fan.

    1. Loosen bolt (1) on the alternator belt tightener.

    1. Loosen the mounting nut and bolt (3) from the alternator. Slide the alternator toward the engine in order to release the tension on two V-belts (2) .

    1. Remove two V-belts (2) .

  1. Use the following steps in order to remove the water pump V-belt.

    1. Loosen bolts (4) and (5) .

    1. Rotate the water pump toward the fan drive.

    1. Remove water pump V-belt (6) .

  1. Use the following steps in order to remove the air conditioner V-belt.

    1. Loosen tension adjusting bolt (7) for the air conditioner.

    1. Loosen the mounting nut and bolt (8) from the air conditioner compressor. Slide the compressor toward the engine in order to release the tension on air conditioner V-belts (9) .

    1. Remove air conditioner V-belt (9) .

Installation Procedure

    Note: In order to properly adjust all V-belts, refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual.

  1. Check the condition of all V-belts for wear or damage. If necessary, replace the V-belts.

  1. Use the following steps in order to install the air conditioner V-belt.

    1. Install air conditioner V-belt (9) .

    1. Slide the compressor away from the engine in order to put tension on the air conditioner V-belt (9). Tighten the mounting nut and bolt (8) on the air conditioner.

    1. Tighten tension adjusting bolt (7) for the air conditioner.

  1. Use the following steps in order to install the water pump V-belt.

    1. Install water pump V-belt (6) .

    1. Rotate the water pump drive away from the fan drive.

    1. Tighten bolts (5) and (4) .

  1. Use the following steps in order to install the V-belts to the alternator and the fan.

    1. Install two V-belts (2) .

    1. Slide the alternator away from the engine in order to put tension on two V-belts (2). Tighten the mounting nut and bolt (3) for the alternator.

    1. Tighten bolt (1) on the alternator belt tightener.

End By: Install the fan assembly.
