Machine Preparation
Prepare the machine for testing by completing the procedure that is specified in the Service Manual module Testing and Adjusting, "Machine Preparation for Troubleshooting" for the machine that is being serviced.
Brake Pedals

- Check the position of the left service brake pedal. When the left service brake pedal is in the RELEASED position, angle (A) should equal 30 ± 1°. If the pedal is within specifications, proceed to Step 5. Otherwise, proceed to Step 2.
- Loosen jam nut (3). Rotate screw (2) in order to adjust the left service brake pedal to equal angle (A) .
- Rotate screw (2) clockwise in order to increase the angle of dimension (A). Rotate screw (2) counterclockwise in order to decrease the angle of dimension (A) .
- Adjust the left service brake pedal to the correct angle (A). Tighten jam nut (3) against the brake pedal assembly.
- Adjust the transmission neutralizer switch.

- Adjust the stop light limit switch.

- Loosen jam nut (3) on the right hand service brake pedal.

- Check the position of the right service brake pedal. When the right service brake pedal is in the RELEASED position, angle (A) should equal 30 ± 1°. If the pedal is within specifications, no further adjustment is necessary. Otherwise, proceed to Step 9.
- Add 3.5 mm (0.14 inch) of shim to screw (2) on the right hand brake pedal assembly. Adjust screw (2) until the stop lights go on.
Note: Stop lights should be off when 1.5 mm (0.06 inch) of shim is added to screw (2) .
- Tighten jam nut (3) against the brake pedal assembly.
