  1. Use the steps and the handholds when you get off the machine. Face the machine and use both hands. Make sure that the steps are clear of debris before you dismount.

  1. Inspect the engine compartment for debris. Clean out any debris and paper in order to avoid a fire.

  1. Remove all flammable debris from the front bottom guard in order to reduce the fire hazard. Dispose of the debris properly.

  1. Turn the key for the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position and remove the key. When the machine is not operated for an extended period of one month or more, remove the key for the battery disconnect switch. This will help to prevent a battery short circuit. Removing the key will also help to protect the battery from vandalism and from the current draw that is made by certain components.

  1. Install all the covers and install all the vandalism protection locks.
