SUBJECT: CORRECTIONS TO INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR HYDRAULIC THUMBS

PROBLEM:

The Operation and Maintenance Manuals GEBJ0734-01 and GEBJ0734-02 have been updated. The new manual GEBJ0734-03 features new installation instructions for hydraulic thumbs.

SOLUTION:

Discard the old manuals and order the new manual GEBJ0734-03 through the Caterpillar Media Logistics System, or go online at http://64.22.192.186 "CATERPILLAR WORK TOOLS-TECHNICAL PUBLICATIONS FOR "CUSTOM" WORK TOOLS" website, to download a copy of the updated manual.

A description of the changes is listed below:

Dimensions for installation of the mounting bracket of the following no-link thumbs have changed: 263-3951 (312C), 262-7747 (315C), 263-9599 (330C), 264-0507 (345C).
There has been an update to the cylinder mounting bracket on the 315C machines.
Additional detail has been added to describe the installation of the thumb cylinder.
