SUBJECT: PHS Pilot Valve Module Can Drop Out at Cranking
PROBLEM:
The PHS Pilot Valve Module can drop out at engine cranking. This is due to a low voltage. This low voltage has sufficient magnitude to cause the valve ECM to drop out. However, this low voltage does not have sufficient duration to allow the system software to discern that the valve ECM has dropped out of the system.
SOLUTION:
Resolution of PHS Pilot Valve Module dropout problems has been addressed in the 238-4483 PHS Software. The 238-4483 PHS Software simply resets the PHS after the engine has cranked. The only technique that needs to be performed is to flash the A4:M1 with the latest software. Flashing the A4:M1 with the latest software will resolve any PHS dropout problems that might be diagnosed as component failures.
