Usage:
980G (2KR) Wheel Loaders;
824G (4SN) Wheel Tractors;
825G (6RN) Soil Compactors;
826G (7LN) Landfill Compactors
Description of Change: A new throttle cable is being used on the machines listed. The new throttle cable provides more cable travel. The increased cable travel eases the low idle and high idle adjustment.
Adaptable To: The new 176-6767 Cable is a direct replacement for the former 115-0542 Cable (not canceled). The new 176-6767 Cable is effective with 980G (2KR3383-Up) Wheel Loaders, 824G (4SN447-Up) Wheel Tractors, 825G (6RN366-Up) Soil Compactors, and 826G (7LN535-Up) Landfill Compactors. The new throttle cable is adaptable to first production for the machines listed.
Installation Procedure:
Throttle Cable Routing
Detail A
1. Remove the old throttle cable. Remove two yoke rod ends (4) from each end of the old throttle cable.
2. Install the two yoke rod ends on the new 176-6767 Cable.
3. Remove accelerator pedal (1) and housing (8) from the machine cab.
4. Install the single bulkhead nut end of the new 176-6767 Cable, guide (5), spring (6), and guide (7), on accelerator pedal (1) and housing (8). Assemble the new 176-6767 Cable and parts as shown in Detail A.
5. Fully extend cable and attach yoke rod end (4) to accelerator pedal lever (2). Adjust accelerator pedal lever (2) until the accelerator pedal lever makes contact with housing (8). Tighten nut (9).
6. Install the assembled accelerator pedal, throttle cable, and housing in the machine cab.
7. Route the throttle cable to the engine as shown.
Detail B
NOTE: Make sure that governor shaft (11) is in the OFF position and governor lever (12) is positioned as shown.
8. Install the throttle cable and yoke rod end (14) in bracket (13), as shown.
9. Adjust throttle cable nuts (10) until the holes in yoke rod end (14) are 7 to 10 mm (.28 to .40 inches) forward of the holes in governor lever (12). Tighten throttle cable nuts (10).
10. Attach yoke rod end (14) to governor lever (12).
11. Move governor lever (12) to HIGH IDLE position. Adjust setscrew (3) on accelerator pedal housing (8) until the setscrew contacts accelerator pedal lever (2).
