Usage:
AP-1055B (8BM, ABB),
AP-1050B (6ZN),
AP-650B (9DN),
BG-2455C (6TN, ACM),
BG-245C (4XN),
BG-225C (5GN) Asphalt Pavers
A new 168-3551 Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) Steering Sensor is available for the above asphalt pavers. The new sensor has improved moisture resistance due to improvements made in the manufacturing process. The new sensor is a direct replacement for the former 138-4167 PWM Steering Sensor. These changes will provide additional service life.
When servicing the sensor, special attention should be given to the following items:
1. When installing the sensor, it should be adjusted so that the mark on the sensor dial is aligned with the mark on the housing.
2. 9S-3263 Threadlock should be used on the two 2F-7888 Machine Screws. Both machine screws should be torqued to 2.5 ± 0.25 N·m. Over torquing of the two screws will distort the sensor.
3. After installing the sensor, the output of the sensor should be verified. Acceptable ranges are in the following chart:
4. After installation of the sensor is complete, the propel MPC-10 will need to be recalibrated. Refer to KENR2949 for the MPC-10 calibration.
The new sensor is effective with: AP-1055B (8BM399-Up, ABB180-Up); AP-1050B (6ZN195-Up); AP-650B (9DN381-Up); BG-2455C (6TN141-Up, ACM250-Up); BG-245C (4XN123-Up); BG-225C (5GN472-Up).
