Automatic Shut-Off Systems Not Recommended on Mobile Earthmoving Equipment {7418,7403}

Usage:

All Caterpillar Earthmoving Equipment

Some stationary engine installations involve the use of an automatic shut-off system. In the past, owners of earthmoving equipment have requested that automatic engine shut-off systems be installed on mobile earthmoving machines. Caterpillar Inc. DOES NOT recommend the installation of an automatic engine shut-off on mobile earthmoving equipment. The control of engine shut-down, and engine-related systems, should be at the discretion of the operator.

Systems that warn of high temperature, low oil pressure or other conditions may be desired, but such systems should not include an automatic engine shut-off circuit.
