Fuel Injection Pump Housing And Governor (Earlier And Later)

Usage:

Install Fuel Injection Pump Housing And Governor (Earlier And Later)

1. Fasten a hoist to the fuel injection pump housing. Put fuel injection pump housing and governor (1) in position in the fuel injection pump and governor drive. The weight of the fuel injection pump and governor is 74 lb. (34 kg).

2. Install bolts that hold the fuel injection pump housing to the fuel injection pump and governor drive. Install the bolts that hold the fuel injection pump housing to the cylinder block.

3. Remove tool (A) from the fuel injection pump housing and install plug (6). Remove the timing bolt from the flywheel. Use tool (B) to turn the crankshaft two complete revolutions clockwise (as seen from the front of the engine), and check the timing to see that the timing is correct. If the timing is not correct, see REMOVE FUEL INJECTION PUMP HOUSING AND GOVERNOR for the timing procedure.

4. Remove the protection covers from the connections of the fuel injection lines (5). Connect the fuel injection lines to the fuel injection pump housing. Tighten fuel line nuts to a torque of 30 ± 5 lb.ft. (40 ± 7 N·m) with tool (C).

5. Connect fuel lines (3) to block (2) and the fuel injection pump. Install bracket (4) on the governor.

6. Install fuel line (7) on fuel filter manifold (8) and the fuel transfer pump. Install fuel line (10) on block (2) and block (11). Install bolt (9) and nut that fasten three tube clamps to the bracket.

a) install fuel ratio control (if so equipped)
