Fuel Injection Pump Housing And Governor

Usage:

Separation Of Governor From Fuel Injection Pump Housing

start by:

a) remove fuel injection pump housing and governor

1. Remove plate (2) (if so equipped).

2. Remove plate (4) (if so equipped).

3. Remove cover (1) for idle screw housing.

4. Remove plate (3).

5. Remove two bolts (9) and lock. Remove the lever (6) for fuel shutoff solenoid.

6. Remove the idle screws (5). Remove bolt (7) and cover (8).

7. Remove the screw (10) that holds rack stop collar (12) to governor shaft.

8. Remove rack stop collar (12) and spring.

9. Remove the bolts (11) that hold governor housing to fuel injection pump housing. Remove governor housing.

10. Remove seat (20), wave washer (19), washer (17), wave washer (18) and governor spring (16).

11. Remove washer (15).

12. Remove three bolts (13) and lock that hold cylinder and weight assemblies (14) to the pump housing. Remove the cylinder and weight assemblies from the rack.

Connection Of Governor To Fuel Injection Pump Housing

1. Put the cylinder and weight assemblies (1) on fuel injection pump housing. Be sure the groove (slot) in piston (2) is engaged in groove (slot) in the rack (3).

2. Install the lock and three bolts (4) that hold cylinder and weight assemblies (5) on the pump housing.

3. Install washer (8).

4. Install governor spring (6), wave washer (7), washer (9), wave washer (10) and seat (11).

5. Put the governor housing on pump housing and install the bolts.

6. Install the spring and rack stop collar (13). Install the screw that holds collar to bolt.

7. Install cover (15). Install idle screws (12).

8. Install lever (14), locks and bolts for fuel shutoff solenoid.

9. Install plate (17).

10. Install cover (16) for idle screw housing.

11. Install plate (19) (if so equipped).

12. Install plate (18) (if so equipped).

end by:

a) install fuel injection pump housing and governor

b) make adjustments to the rack and governor (see RACK SETTING AND GOVERNOR ADJUSTMENTS in TESTING AND ADJUSTING)
