Usage:
Start By:
a. remove all turbochargers with support group
Typical Example
1. Remove bolt and locknut (2) from exhaust sleeve (3).
2. Fasten a hoist to exhaust manifold assembly (1).
3. Remove the bolts that hold the exhaust manifold to each cylinder head.
4. Remove exhaust manifold (1) and the seals from the engine. The weight of the exhaust manifold is 104 kg (230 lb).
5. Do Steps 1 through 4 for the opposite side of the engine.
NOTE: The following steps are for installation of the exhaust manifolds.
6. Fasten a hoist, and put exhaust manifold assembly (1) and the seals in position on the engine.
7. Put 5P3931 Anti-Seize Compound on the threads of the bolts, and install them to hold the exhaust manifolds to the cylinder head assemblies. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 47 ± 5 N·m (35 ± 4 lb ft).
8. Put 5P3931 Anti-Seize Compound on the threads of the bolts, install exhaust sleeve (3) with bolt and locknut (2). Tighten the bolt and locknut to a torque of 47 ± 9 N·m (35 ± 7 lb ft).
9. Do Steps 6, 7 and 8 for the opposite side of the engine.
