Usage:
1. Disconnect tube assemblies (1), (4) and (5).
2. Remove the four locknuts and washers (5) that hold the bypass group to the turbocharger. Remove bypass valve (2) and the gasket.
3. Check the condition of all O-ring seals and gaskets. Use new parts for replacement if the O-ring seals or gasket appear worn or damaged,
4. Install exhaust bypass valve (4) in the reverse order of removal.
Disassemble & Assemble Exhaust Bypass Group
Start By:
remove exhaust bypass group
The exhaust bypass assembly contains two springs under tension. To prevent personal injury, slowly loosen five bolts (13) by loosening each bolt in turn one turn at a time. |
1. Remove five bolts and washers (13).
2. Remove cover assembly (9).
3. Remove spacer (6) and gasket (5).
4. Remove springs (8) and (11).
5. Remove four shim springs (10).
6. Remove sleeve (12).
7. Remove nut (7), diaphragm (4) and diaphragm retainer (14).
8. Remove retainer plate (3).
9. Remove washer (2).
10. Remove valve (15) from base assembly (1).
NOTE: The following steps are for the assembly of the exhaust bypass group.
11. Install valve (15) in base assembly (1).
12. Install washer (2).
13. Install retainer plate (3).
14. Install diaphragm (4), diaphragm retainer (14) and nut (7).
15. Install sleeve (12).
16. Install springs (8) and (11).
17. Install four shim springs (10).
18. Install spacer (6) and gasket (5).
19. Install cover assembly (9).
20. Install five bolts and washers (13).
