1. Locate wire, (ES-5/F708H/CONNA-15), in the
harness. This will be one of the two wires coming off of ES-5. Be sure you get the right wire, since there are two yellow wires coming off of ES-5 (See Picture below) 2. Cut the wire in two and add two 8t-8729 sockets to each end. 3. Insert the wire coming from ES-5 into spot 4 of the connector, 155-2272. (Note, it is very important to plug the wires into the correct spots due to the diode only allowing voltage to go in one direction) 4. Insert the wire coming from CONNA-15 into spot 1 of the connector, 155-2272. 5. Plug the diode assembly, 123-0316, into the connector, 155-2272. 6. Tie strap the diode assembly to the harness. (See Picture below) After installation of the diode above, test the unit with the following steps: 1. With the engine control switch in the OFF/Reset position, apply power to the engine. 2. Place the engine control switch to the Stop/Cooldown position. 3. Measure voltage between Terminal Blocks 2 and 3 (You should see around 24 Vdc) 4. Depress the Emergency Stop Button (Do not pull the button back out) 5. Measure voltage between Terminal Blocks 2 and 3 (You should see 0 Vdc). 6. If you see 0 Vdc, your update is done. Reset the Emergency Stop button. If you still see 24 Vdc go back and follow the installation procedure paying close attention to wire numbers and pin locations. |
