PROBLEM
The E-Stop 109-6507 switch may have been wired incorrectly on the MPD Pilot House panels within the 257-7952 Panel Gp; 249-6961 and 257-7948 MPD Pilot House panels. If the E-Stop is wired incorrectly and the engine is running on the secondary ECM, the engine will not shut down when the E-Stop button is depressed. The E-Stop may also not prevent the engine from starting up again, if a start signal is sent to the engine. It is estimated that this is a potential issue on 3500B marine engines that were shipped with MPD Pilot House Panels from 18-MAR-05 through 21-DEC-05.

PARTS NEEDED
No parts needed.ACTION REQUIRED
The published 249-6960 Wiring Diagram (MPD Pilot House) is correct. The contacts of the E-Stop need to be checked in order to ensure that they agree with the published diagram. This check can be done as follows:- Ensure that the E-Stop button is not depressed.
- Check for resistance across terminals 13 and 14.
- This should be a Normally Closed contact; therefore there should be no resistance.
If there is resistance, then the E-Stop
wiring does not agree with the published 249-6960. The contacts of the
E-Stop must be rewired as follows:
