Usage:
Fluid Spillage Containment
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to "Tools And Shop Products Guide", NENG2500 for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Caterpillar machines. Dispose fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
NOTE: Put identification on all lines, hoses, wires and tubes for installation purposes. Cap and plug all lines, hoses and tubes to prevent foreign material from entering the system.
NOTE: For photographic purposes the transmission has been removed.
1. Remove floor plate (1).
2. Disconnect wiring harness (2).
3. Remove four caps (3) and bolts under each cap.
4. Remove transmission solenoid valve (4).
5. Check four O-rings (5) for wear and replace as needed.
NOTE: Install in reverse order of removal.
Remove & Install Transmission (Powershift) Solenoid Valve

1. Remove four bolts (1) and floor plate (2).
2. Disconnect all the wire harnesses on the three solenoid valves. Remove four plugs and bolts (3) from each of the control valves (4). Remove the three solenoid valves.
NOTE: Install in reverse order of removal.
Disassemble & Assemble Solenoid Valve (Transmission)
Start By:
a. remove transmission solenoid valve
1. Remove nut (1).
2. Remove cover (2), O-ring seal (3), solenoid (4), washer (5), and O-ring seal (6) from valve body (7).
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 for the opposite end of valve body.
NOTE: Assemble in the reverse order.
