Certain 0R1074 Remanufactured Rod Assemblies Need To Be Removed From Parts Stock Caterpillar

Termination Date

Problem

Certain 0R1074 Remanufactured Rod Assemblies need to be removed from parts stock.

Action Required

Inspect 0R1074 Remanufactured Rod Assemblies. If the date code (stamped on the side of the rod eye) is 10/92 or later, or if a letter "R" is stamped after the part number, return the rod to parts stock. If neither of these conditions exist, inspect the piston end of the rod (opposite the eye end). If the chamfer on the end of the rod is less than 15.5 mm (.632"), or the two holes on the perimeter of the rod end do not have a slight chamfer, remove the rod from parts stock.

Service Claim Allowances

Submit one claim for all 0R1074 Rod Assemblies removed from parts stock.

Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling.
