Reference: Service Magazine, March 15, 1982, Page 10, "New Magnetic Switch".

To install a new 3T376 Magnetic Switch in place of a 7N5933 Magnetic Switch in the above machines, use the applicable instructions that follow.

Installation Of 3T376 Magnetic Switch On 950B (31R1-Up, 22Z1-22Z1382) Loaders

1. Disconnect the battery from the electrical system.

2. Remove the relay box (see Illustration 1) from the firewall.

3. Disconnect the electrical leads from the 7N5933 Magnetic Switch. Remove the magnetic switch from the relay box.

4. Slot (elongate) the existing holes, used to mount the former magnetic switch, 8.0 mm (.31") higher.

5. Install the new 3T376 Magnetic Switch in the relay box as shown in Illustration 1.

6. Install the electrical leads on the new magnetic switch. Use a 2G3763 Wire Assembly to connect one coil terminal of the magnetic switch to the ground stud as shown.

7. Install the relay box on the firewall.

8. Connect the battery to the electrical system.

Installation Of 3T376 Magnetic Switch On 966D (99Y1-99Y3581) Loaders; 814B (16Z1-16Z268) Tractors; 815B (17Z1-17Z525), 816B (15Z1-15Z458) Compactors

1. Disconnect the battery from the electrical system.

2. Remove the relay box (see Illustration 2) from the firewall.

3. Disconnect the electrical leads from the 7N5933 Magnetic Switch. Remove the magnetic switch from the relay box.

4. Drill two new 8.0 mm (.31") diameter holes in the relay box, 320 mm (1.26") below the existing holes used to mount the former magnetic switch. The two new holes will be used to mount the new 3T376 Magnetic Switch

5. Remove the circuit breakers (see Illustration 2) from the lower right corner of the relay box. There may be either 2, 3 or 4 circuit breakers, depending on machine attachments.

6. Drill a new 5.5 mm (.22") diameter hole, 13.0 mm (.51") below each of the existing circuit breaker mounting holes.

7. Install the circuit breakers using the new lower mounting holes.

8. Install the new 3T376 Magnetic Switch in the relay box as shown in Illustration 2.

9. Install the electrical leads on the new magnetic switch. Use a 2G3763 Wire Assembly to connect one coil terminal of the magnetic switch to the ground stud as shown.

10. Install the relay box on the firewall.

11. Connect the battery to the electrical system.
