Usage:
768C And 772B Tractors;
769C And 773B Trucks
Description of Change: A new piston and eight more springs are used in the No. 2 Clutch in the planetary transmission group on the above machines. The added springs are used to make sure the piston is completely retracted when the No. 2 Clutch is not engaged. This is especially important during high idle, neutral operation such as when the load is dumped. The use of more springs made it necessary to release a new piston.
Formerly, it was possible for the piston to not completely retract. This caused extra wear on the clutch components.
Adaptable As: The new 3T7417 Piston and eight more 8P5058 Springs are direct replacements for the former 3P8156 Piston, which has been canceled. The quantity of 8P5058 Springs changed from 12 to the new quantity of 20.
