It is important that the spark plug gap be adjusted to the correct dimension for optimum gas engine performance. A spark plug adjusting tool, as shown in the illustrations, can be fabricated from a flat blade screwdriver or similar tool. This fabricated tool can be made to fit any "J-Gap" spark plug. The use of this fabricated tool will help accurately adjust the spark plug gap without damaging the precious metals used on the spark plug electrodes.
