New Water Regulator Prevents Leakage

Usage:

3500 Family Of Engines

Description of Change: A new water regulator is used in the 3500 Family Of Engines. The new regulator has several improvements to provide longer service life. Stainless steel spring straps are used to eliminate stress corrosion cracking. A seal has been added to the "power pill" shaft to keep debris out and eliminate sticking. Also, a molded rubber seal is used on the flange face to prevent leakage.

Adaptable To: The new 7E7933 Water Regulator is a direct replacement for the former 4W4794 Temperature Regulator. See the chart for the effectivity of the new water regulator. This change is adaptable to first production.

Specifications For The New 7E7933 Water Regulator

... Opening temperature equals 81°-84°C (178°-183°F).
... Fully open temperature equals 92°C (198°F).
... Maximum main valve leakage rate is 10 cc (.61 cu. in.) per minute with 206 kPa (30 psi) pressure differential below 81°C (178°F) coolant temperature.
