New Extension Assembly Used In Gas Engine Ignition Groups

Usage:

3512 (4KC),
3516 (3RC) Spark-Ignited Engines

Description of Change: A new extension assembly is used in the gas engine ignition groups used on 3512 and 3516 Spark-Ignited Engines. The new extension assembly is 7.0 mm (.28") shorter than the former extension assembly. The new 9Y2602 (J-gap), and 7W2257 (surface gap) Spark Plugs used in these engines require a shorter extension assembly. The new shorter extension assembly has a larger diameter teflon column for increased strength. The new extension assembly also has a spring-loaded brass upper contact rod to reduce corrosion impact. It has a closer fit for improved installation at the spark plug end.

Location of the new 9Y7042 Extension Assembly.

Adaptable To: The new 9Y7042 Extension Assembly replaces the former 7W1453 Extension Assembly in the 7C0481, 7C1144, and 9Y5310 Gas Engine Ignition Groups used on 3512 Spark-Ignited Engines and the 7C0482, 7C1145, and 9Y5311 Gas Engine Ignition Groups used on 3516 Spark-Ignited Engines.
