New Steel Fuel Injection Pump Lifters Should Not Be Mixed With Aluminum Lifters

Usage:

3400 Family Of DIT Engines In All Applications

Description of Change: A steel fuel injection lifter is now used for all applications of the above engines. The improved lifter assembly has a wider, crowned, roller follower that reduces camshaft lobe stress and wear. The steel lifter is also more durable than the former aluminum lifter assembly.

NOTE: Do not mix the new steel lifter assembly with the former aluminum lifter assembly. If an aluminum lifter assembly requires replacement, all remaining aluminum lifter assemblies, plus the washers and springs, should be replaced.

The new steel lifter assembly will increase camshaft life and improve overall reliability of the rebuilt fuel injection pump.

Adaptable To: The new 4W736 Lifter Assembly is a direct replacement for the former 9N2505 Lifter Assembly when used with a 7N1066 Washer and 7N1208 Spring. The new lifter assembly is adaptable to all 3400 DIT Engines.
