Oil Flow Increased For Inlet Valve Lubricator

Usage:

3606 (8RB320-Up),
3608 (6MC255-Up),
3612 (9RC20-Up),
3616 (1PD19-Up) Engines

The adjustment for the inlet valve metering pump has been changed on the above engines to allow increased oil flow to the inlet valves. Refer to the illustration and the "Flow Adjustment Procedures".

Flow Adjustment Procedure For 3606 Engines

1. Rotate both adjusting screws counterclockwise to full open position.

2. Rotate both adjusting screws clockwise 34 clicks to final position. This will provide an oil flow rate of 1.9 L (.50 U.S.gal.) in a 24 hour period.

Flow Adjustment Procedure For 3608 Engines

1. Rotate both adjusting screws counterclockwise to full open position

2. Rotate both adjusting screws clockwise 30 clicks to final position. This will provide an oil flow rate of 2.6 L (.69 U.S.gal.) in a 24 hour period.

Flow Adjustment Procedure For 3612 Engines

1. Rotate both adjusting screws counterclockwise to full open position.

2. Rotate both adjusting screws clockwise 20 clicks to final position. This will provide an oil flow rate of 3.9 L (1.03 U.S.gal.) in a 24 hour period.

Flow Adjustment Procedure For 3616 Engines

1. Rotate both adjusting screws counterclockwise to full open position.

2. Rotate both adjusting screws clockwise 11 clicks to final position. This will provide an oil flow rate of 5.2 L (1.37 U.S.gal.) in a 24 hour period.

Location of 7C1190 Metering Pump.
